System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian has released the music video for the song “Harakiri,” the title track off his new album of the same name.
According to Tankian, “Harakiri” is about society’s collective socially unconscious nature. The music video contains a montage of socio-political clips and vignettes. The caption “Millions of animals have perished in recent mass die-offs” precedes a slew of dead animals; the caption “Pollution from cities kills over 2 million people a year” precedes grey shots of a smoky industrial city.
Harakiri is Tankian’s third solo album to date. With System of a Down, Tankian has released five studio albums. He will be touring with the band in August. Meanwhile, check out the video for Harakiri below:
