“They can’t put OutKast in a category; they can’t put Big Boi in a category. Rock, funk, blues, soul, gospel — some of everything. All I need is a crowd and leave the rest up to my band”, said Big Boi in an interview at the SXSW Music Conference and Festival. Big Boi of Grammy-winning duo, OutKast, has been working on his first solo album, “Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty”. The album is set to be released this June or July.
Guest on the 16 track LP include Jamie Foxx, T.I., George Clinton and the other half of OutKast, Andre 3000, who is also prepping his first solo project. Once he’s finished, stated Big Boi, they’ll get together on a new OutKast album. Their last album was in 2006 for their musical film “Idlewild”, which debuted at number one on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums.billboard.com
