Jay-Z set the record by playing in seven cities in 24 hours for his “The Hangar Tour” when Kingdom Come was released. To top this record, The Flaming Lips will play eight shows in 24 hours on a mini tour on “the Magical Mystery Merry Prankster bus,” which kicks off in Memphis and finishes in New Orleans. This feat will coincide with the O Music Awards and come June 27, fans can watch a live stream of their attempt at the world record via the O Music Awards website. The Flaming Lips are being nominated for the “Digital Genius Award”, other nominees include Gorillaz, OK Go, Amanda Palmer, and iamamiwhoami.
