Milwaukee born, Los Angelos based Composer Joe Wong is quite the Renaissance man. Joe Wong is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, singer, and host of the prominent podcast, The Trap Set. He is especially known for his drumming, which is both meditative and energetic. Wong’s intimate knowledge of rhythm and how sounds cooperate with each other gives him an extensive ability to produce any kind of style he likes. Wong is recently lauded for his psychedelic and trance-like compositions, featuring his own vocals, and harkening back to the feeling of the Summer of Love.
Joe Wong has quite an extensive body of work, as he has worked as a film composer for over 20 shows and movies. Recent compositions of his have been featured on Netflix’s original shows Midnight Gospel which features his song Dreams Wash Away, and show Russian Doll. Wong releases his debut album, Nite Creatures on September 18. It contains 10 tracks featuring many prominent musicians and a 24-piece orchestra. Nite Creatures is psychedelic and baroque, shows off Wong’s work unfiltered.
Joe Wong has conquered many intricacies of many instruments, and to hear an ensemble put together live is quite the opportunity.
