A Canadian electronic pop band composed of Megan James and Corin Riddick, Purity Ring first formed in 2010 when the duo experimentally released the track “Ungirthed”. Soon after, Purity Ring signed with a record label, released their first official single, and announced the release of their debut studio album, Shrines, which was released in mid-2012. Since then, Purity Ring has released two studio albums called Another Eternity and Wombs. In April 2016, Purity Ring also had the distinct privilege of performing at Coachella, and their music has also been featured in Netflix’s The Innocents.

Purity Ring’s most recent release, Wombs, was released on April 3, 2020. The backing singles for the album were “Peacefall”, “Pink Lightning”, and “Stardew”. All throughout their career, Purity Ring’s musical style has been characterized by elements of hip-hop and pop, trance-like vocals, synthy-beats. This ethereal, dream-like musical style is supported during live performances by custom costumes and other features. All of this will be made viewable on May 18th in 2021 when Purity Ring will come to the Bay Area’s Fox Theater to perform in Oakland. This performance is not one to be missed.
