Indie rap staple Busdriver recently announced that he will release his seventh studio album, Beaus$Eros, on February 14 via Fake Four Inc. More info—along with a download of the album’s first single, “No Blacks No Jews No Asians,” and a Busdriver/John Dieterich (Deerhoof) remix of Raleigh Moncrief’s “In This Grass”—after the jump.
Known traditionally for his lightening-fast delivery, Busdriver has partially dropped that characteristic for Beaus$Eros, this time around opting for a more avant-garde, post-hip-hop sound.
Based primarily around a bad breakup and its ensuing string of personal failures, Busdriver’s most recent effort features ever-complex vocal work intermixed with haunting and innovative melodies.
Belgian musician Loden chaired the production of Beaus$Eros without ever having met with Busdriver in person to discuss the album’s sound. The result is surprisingly cohesive, with Loden’s huge beats pushing on Busdriver’s trademark flow.
You can download “No Blacks No Jews No Asians,” the album’s first single, and Busdriver’s remix of “In This Grass” with Deerhoof’s John Dieterich below:
