This year, Rosie Thomas has provided us with a Valentine’s gift far more poignant than flowers and a box of chocolates. With Love comes out February 14 on Sing-A-Long Records and features a variety of talent, including Sam Beam of Iron & Wine, David Bazan of Pedro the Lion, Jen Wood of The Postal Service, along with brother Brian Thomas and members Sufjan Stevens’ band.
It has been four years since Rosie Thomas has released a full-length album, but finally the wait is over. With Love will return us to the charm of Thomas’ sweet-sounding voice and is likely to be packed with vibrance and filled anticipatory moments due to a worthy cast of collaborators.
The album will focuses on the transformative powers that love bestows upon us. Since we have last heard from Thomas, she has undergone a two year battle with thyroid disorder that she fortunately has overcome. Since then, she has gotten married, relocated herself to Seattle, and prepared a lovely new record for us.
Rosie Thomas will be celebrating the release of the record with a Christmas show, which will be her first live concert in 2 years. The show will take place at Seattle’s Triple Door on December 13. As far as what we can expect from With Love, Thomas comments, “there’s a more playful part of me captured on this record…all around it’s just more fun.”
