The Canadian electronic group Holy Fuck have debuted their title track for the upcoming album Deleter, which is set to be released via Holy EF Music on January 17. This title track features Angus Andrews of the Brooklyn-based rock band Liars, and is accompanied by a psychedelic visualizer. The band will additionally be touring Europe and North America this spring.
“Deleters” is a blend of electronic music and rock with progressive synths, distorted vocals and different drum types that channel the dance-rock energy of groups such as Hot Chip, Soul Wax and LCD Soundystsem. The visuals switch between images of the album cover cut with psychedelic loops and visuals, and a man standing in a forest which is cut with images of yellow spirals.
Psychedelic visuals have accompanied tracks on this upcoming albums such as “Luxe,” which featured Alexis Taylor of the electronic/indie rock band Hot Chip. The goal of this album is to help create a feeling of synaesthesia, a creative process where a listener can begin to view the music in their mind.
“Synaesthesia is a big part of the creative process for us; deciding where to pan instruments, how to treat them in the mix, as well as the overall song writing process – you naturally connect it to the visual,” the band explained in a press releae.”It’s then out of our hands the moment we ask someone else to handle artwork and videos. But that’s the most interesting part…’seeing’ how someone else sees it.”
