Guitarist Ben Weinman and vocalist Dimitri Minakakis, two original members of New Jersey-based metal band Dillinger Escape Plan, have teased an upcoming single from the former band members, according to Blabbermouth. The project has no name yet, but the duo has recently released a new song, “Choir Boys,” that is accessible via Weinman’s Patreon.

Weinman and Minakakis originally joined forces to form Dillinger Escape Plan in 1997, along with bassist Adam Doll and drummer Chris Pennie. Minakakis sang vocals on the band’s debut album, Calculating Infinity, and sang on the duo’s self-titled EP, as well as their EP, Under the Running Board. On the band’s Irony Is a Dead Scene EP, Mike Patton filled in on vocals for Minakakis, and following that release Greg Puciato was hired by the band to be the lead vocalist from that point forward. Minakasis has performed with Dillinger Escape Plan in various live performances, however, and last performed with the band in New York City in December of 2017.
