The Summer Camp Festival in Chillicothe, Illinois has announced its 2020 lineup featuring the likes of Ween, Rezz and the Dirty Heads, who will perform at Three Sisters Park from May 22nd to May 24th. Other prominent performers DJs and producers Clozee and Snails, along with eclectic fusion band Sound Tribe Sector 9. More artists will join the lineup in the future.
This event first took place with an attendance of 1,000 people back in 2001, and was held in the same venue where the event is held today. Eventually, the festival grew into three days and has hosted the likes of The Avett Brothers, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Janes Addiction, Primus and Run The Jewels in the past.
Ween performed during the second day of Desert Daze this year, which featured performances by Flying Lotus, Devo and Parquet Courts. The band performed their 1994 album Chocolate and Cheese in its entirety, along with some crowd-pleasers such as “You Fucked Up,” and “Buckingham Green.”
Rezz is known for her unique blend of EDM, and new beat dance music and has been signed with Deadmau5’s record label Mau5trap since 2016. She has released two studio albums with Mass Manipulation in 2017 and Certain Kind of Magic the following year.
Dirty Heads released their most recent studio album, Super Moon, earlier this year. “Overall, The Dirty Heads do a solid job mixing elements of both their old and new sounds into a product that should please both camps. Is it their best work? Probably not,” mxdwn reviewer Arnim Whisler explained.”But the band definitely sounds more at home with their original influences back in the picture, so overall Super Moon is a step in the right direction.”
