Dua Lipa released a new song titled, “Future Nostalgia” which has an underground, electronic sound with a strong beat and upbeat vocals. The theme of the song seems to focus on how you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. With lyrics like “You can’t be bitter if I’m out here showing my face. You want what now looks like, let me give you a taste.” The artist rants about how she can’t teach someone to love her the right away, with lyrics, “You can’t get with this. If you ain’t built for this. I can’t build you up if you ain’t tough enough.” At one point she laughs in the middle of the hook, showing her confidence in the song.
Dua Lipa said this about the new track, “Future Nostalgia is my album title track and is a little something to tie you over till the New Year. I wrote this one with Jeff Bhasker and Coffee one afternoon in LA. It’s all playful and fun and not taking ourselves too seriously but we loved it so much we wanted to share it with you.”
