Meat Puppets and Mudhoney have recently unveiled a set of Spring 2020 co-headline tour dates across the United States. This new tour follows The Meat Puppets recent reunion tour with their original line-up, who reunited for the first time in 20 years.
“We began to make such a hellacious racket that we knew we were on to something,” says Derrick Bostrom, who rejoined the band in 2018 explained. “The band has been a really, really deep font of creativity. Love it or hate it, hit or miss, Curt is just prodigious. They are still living the rock lifestyle; they’re not doing it by half measures. They stayed on the road. These guys are uncompromising. I consider the Meat Puppets to be a national treasure.”
In addition to this tour, the band debuted their latest album release Dusty Notes back in March. “Meat Puppets have always been a genre-crossing group, and Dusty Notes is no exception,” mxdwn reviewer Caitlin Wills explained. “It combines elements of alt-rock, psychedelic and country rock, creating a collection of songs that are as unique as they are beautiful.”
Mudhoney made an appearance at this year’s Ohana Festival, which hosted the likes of Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Glen Hansard. They also released an EP entitled Morning In America earlier this year as well. “Their newest seven-song album, which follows the release of their 2018 album Digital Garbage brings a similar political vibe with a whole new unique sound,” mxdwn reviewer Maya DeWakar explained.
