Indie folk band, The Head and the Heart, recently released the music video for their inspirational single “See You Through My Eyes.” The group’s fourth full-length studio album Living Mirage, was released May 17th on Warner Records/Reprise Records. “See You Through My Eyes” follows the smash breakout single released earlier this year, “Missed Connection.”
“See You Through My Eyes” gives an uplifting look at reaching into one’s self and not being afraid to express fully just what makes a human being truly themselves. The video starts with an array of people from different racial and gender backgrounds amongst members of The Head and The Heart notably Jonathan Russell and Charity Rose Theilin. The current tour lineup for The Head and The Heart also includes Matt Gervais, Chris Zasche, Kenny Hensley and Tyler Williams. The video spotlights these individuals in a dimly lit room to being brought to the light by the end of the video, illuminated to strip away inhibitions revealing everyone in the light.
“See You Through My Eyes” has a universal appeal and “…has been growing steadily at AAA, following on the heels of the breakout single “Missed Connection”, which recently secured multiple weeks at the #1 position on the Mediabase and BDS Alternative Radio Charts.” Based well into their alternative music roots, The Head and The Heart have been experiencing further notoriety that broadens their demographic appeal to more packed shows and crowds. According to a press release, “The band has been on the road in support of Living Mirage playing to packed rooms across the country. The Santa Barbara Independent stated, ‘It’s their heart that continues to capture audiences.'”
Speaking collectively The Head and The Heart detail what the latest music video for “See You Through My Eyes” means to them saying, “‘See You Through My Eyes’ is a song for anyone that needs to be reminded not to judge themselves. We made a video to try to illustrate stripping away the artificial reality of the every day to get to the core universality of the human species.”
