Gwar has announced dates for a fall North American tour dubbed the Return of the World Maggot Tour, which will feature direct support from Everytime I Die and openers Warbeast and Ghoul.

Kicking off October 18 in Charlotte, NC at Amos’ Southend, the tour will bring Gwar all the way to the West Coast and back before wrapping up on November 27 in New Haven, CT. Ghoul will open for the first half of the tour and Warbeast will open the second half.
Return of the World Maggot isn’t just the tour name, though. Gwar will actually be bringing back the World Maggot–a massive stage prop to which they feed their fans back in the 90s–at stops along the tour.
News of the upcoming tour comes just about a week after the announcement that the original Beefcake the Mighty, Mike Bishop, would handle bass duties for a special set at this year’s Gwar-B-Q. That’s not the only high-profile news for Gwar in 2011, with lead singer Oderus Urungus being quietly kicked off of Fox’s Red Eye last month.
