Though Faith No More singer Mike Patton confirmed to RollingStone.com that the band will be playing at this year’s SWU Music and Arts Festival in São Paulo, Brazil, he also says that there are currently no plans for a new studio album.
The band had a very successful reunion tour, which concluded last December in Santiago. “Reunions can be done very distastefully, I think, and we were all very worried about that,” said Patton in his RollingStone.com interview. “But I think we were all very surprised with how good it felt. It’s a tired old script: bands split up, gets hard up for gash, goes on tour and records a shitty record. We don’t want to be part of that kind of history.”
However, band members have not ruled out future performances. In a December 2010 interview with Consequence of Sound, bassist Billy Gould states “I personally can’t see us not doing any more shows again, I just don’t see it. There’s no point in not to do it. Why quit now?”
