Zac Brown Band is among the leaders in the roots music world, blending blues, Americana and rock with great success. On the band’s latest song “Warrior,” the group adds a bit of an exotic dance beat to their eclectic sound, making it a song that wouldn’t be that out of place at HARD Summer or ULTRA Music Festival.
Lyrically, the song talks about the challenges and work it takes to be successful. Brown sings in his rich Southern-accented voice, “No one’s born to be a warrior / No one’s born an average man.” Unsurprisingly, the song was written as a tribute to the men and women who serve in our Armed Forces. The song is part of the band’s latest album, The Owl, which will be released on BMG records on September 20, 2019.
For The Owl, Zac Brown Band brought in a host of celebrity producers to create the eclectic sound on the LP. These producers include huge names like Skrillex, Andrew Watt, Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd, Max Martin, Benny Blanco and Ryan Tedder. The unique amalgamation of tropicalia, electronica and Americana on “Warrior” is more evidence of how The Owl will be an unexpected foray into world music for the well-respected and established band.
“Warrior” follows the previously-released single from The Owl, “Leaving Love Behind.” The song has been a huge hit on the country charts, debuting in the iTunes’ Top 100 Country Songs
