The Swedish dance pop duo Icona Pop have released a brand new single. The track, which is titled “Next Mistake,” was released on Friday morning. An incredibly energetic dance song, the track is perfect for the summer. The duo, who gained worldwide fame from their hit 2013 single “I Love It,” has been hard at work lately touring and collaborating with various producers and DJs. Their last single, a track titled “We Got That Cool” saw the girls working with producers Yves V and Afrojack. The song, which was released just a few weeks ago, was another club-ready dance track. Icona Pop continues to release incredibly catchy summer dance tracks.
The pop duo is comprised of Caroline Hjelt and Alno Jawo, two Stockholm locals who met while attending school together. Forming Icona Pop in 2009, the two began making incredibly bright and synth-heavy pop music later that year. Icona Pop had its first mainstream hit a few years later with “I Love It” featuring pop singer Charli XCX in 2012. The song was featured in a variety of commercials over the next year and eventually reached the top ten on the American music charts. The track went on to become a multi-platinum hit and was featured on the duo’s album THIS IS… ICONA POP in 2013. Since then, Hjelt and Jawo have been consistently putting out incredible dance hits.
Recently the girls have been travelling as a part of their WorldPride tour, which will take them to their hometown of Stockholm next week. Icona Pop will be in the city performing at the Stockholm Pride event on July 30. Hopefully fans will get to hear the brand new “Next Mistake” single live at the show.
