Belle & Sebastian have announced a new original soundtrack for the film Days Of The Bagnold Summer, set to be released September 13 via Matador Records. The soundtrack will include eleven new tracks from the band and re-recorded versions of “Get Me Away From Here I’m Dying,” originally appearing on 1996’s If You’re Feeling Sinister, and “I Know Where The Summer Goes,” from 1998’s This Is Just a Modern Rock Song EP. See the full tracklist below.
With the announcement, they have released the first single of the album “Sister Budha” along with its music video. See the new visual below.
Days Of The Bagnold Summer is a film adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name, written by Joff Winterhart. It will be released in 2020 and will see the directorial debut of Simon Bird. The film features award-winning actors and actresses Monica Dolan, Earl Cave, Rob Brydon, Olivier-Award-winner actress Tamsin Greig and Elliot Speller-Gillot. The film is a coming of age story about a heavy-metal-loving teenager having to spend the summer with his mom after learning that his summer plans fell apart last minute.
Belle and Sebastian will be hitting the road this summer with a handful of headlining shows with bands Men I Trust, Westerman, Barrie and Ex-Hex playing on select dates in July, before headlining their own curated festival The Boaty Weekender in August. Mogwai, Django Django, and Japanese Breakfast are also included on the bill. They were also recently announced to play Pitchfork’s Music Festival in Paris, alongside Charli XCX, Chromatics, Weyes Blood, and Skepta. See the band’s full list of shows below.
