At least a dozen metal bands are set to take the stage at ‘The Summer Slaughter Tour‘ which kicks off in Utah on July 19 and concludes in Los Angeles on August 14 at 1720. Metal bands include, Cattle Decapitation, Carnifex, The Faceless, Rivers Of Nihil, Nekrogoblikon, Lorna Shore and Brand Of Sacrifice. The show is billed as the “most extreme tour of the year” with tickets available HERE.
Cattle Decapitation frontman, Travis Ryan made an announcement, “We are in the studio right now recording the follow-up to The Anthropocene Extinction.” On November 23, Cattle Decapitation will release, Medium Rarities which is a compilation of the band’s 22-year long career. Ryan says, “‘Medium Rarities’ is a project we started about 10 years ago, and we’re thrilled to see it finally happen!”
Nekrogoblikon is a metal band from Los Angeles which formed back in 2006. According to their website they, “Formed six millennia ago, and practicing only every other leap year on a full moon, the band has perfected their brand of crushing goblin music.” The group includes vocalist, Nicky “Scorpion” Calonne, guitarist Alex “Goldberg” Alereza, keyboardist Aaron “Raptor” Minich, bassist Aaron “Zoot” VanZutphen, drummer Eric W. Brown and guitarist Joe Nelson. The band has released four full-length albums, Goblin Island, Stench, Heavy Meta, and Welcome to Bonkers and one EP, Power.
Rivers of Nihil began back in 2009 and has released two EPs and three studio albums. Their most recent release is 2018’s Where Owls Know My Name, which debuted at number 61 on the Billboard 200, selling 2,750 copies in its first week. The band’s first LP, The Conscious Seed of Life was a follow up to their 2015 release, Monarchy.
