Tove Lo has released her new single “Glad He’s Gone.” The pop track discusses the aftermath of breaking up a relationship, and that is to move on to find someone new. In a press release, the track is described as an “obligatory pep-talk you give your girlfriend when she’s going through a breakup. You’re reminding her she’s your partner-in-crime and showing unconditional support.” It was co-produced by Shellback and Struts.
Along with the single, the lyric video of the song was also released. The video features the singer singing the lyrics to the song with a microphone and speaker, a male statue, and a few dance moves. See the video below.
Glad He’s Gone will be featured on her newly announced album Sunshine Kitty. Its release date and tracklist have yet to be announced. Tove discussed the inspiration behind the album name, saying it is “a play on pussy power, but it’s a happy, positive way of seeing it.” Sunshine Kitty will be her fourth record, following 2017’s Blue Lips.
She was recently announced to play the UK’s Mighty Hoopla Music Festival in June, alongside Kate Nash, Chaka Khan, All Saints, and Samantha Mumba.
