It looks like five-piece indie rock outfit Dr. Dog wants to extend the summer just a tad longer: they’ve got plans to rock the rooftop at Pier 17 alongside Shakey Graves on September 14th and 15th. Nashville-based rockers Liz Cooper and the Stampede will support, rounding out a fantastic night of folky rock goodness. Tickets for these nights will set you back $40 for General Admission and $99.50 for a spot in the Heineken Green Zone. These shows are for all ages as well, which is good considering they will likely conclude just before your kids’ bedtime; doors will open early at 5:30pm, and first sounds begin an hour later at 6:30pm.
Dr. Dog knows how to make their fans feel good through their music, and does a pretty great job doing it. Many of their albums have a fair share of feel-good rock jams, crafted with thoughtful lyrics that keep you thinking long after the party ends. Their ten studio albums are spread out across three different independent labels: Park The Van, ANTI-, and We Buy Gold Records. Through their multiple transitions, they’ve managed to retain and build upon their dedicated fanbase, garnering over 1.6 million monthly Spotify listeners. Their live shows have become a staple as well, with fans attending multiple shows throughout their tours due to their nightly changing set-lists.
Co-headlining these shows is solo rocker Alejandro Rose-Garcia, better known by stage name Shakey Graves. Garcia is known for bringing a more blues-y, folk tinge to his sound, offering a truly unique vibe in his honest, raw catalog.
Rounding out the night is support from Liz Cooper and the Stampede. Known for their ambient rock and psychedelic rock-based sound, they’re sure to blow Pier 17 wide open before the main acts even grace the stage. Look out, folks, this is a show you won’t want to miss.
