October cannot come soon enough. After confirming plans for a new Guns N’ Roses album in February, legendary guitarist Saul Hudson, more widely known by his stage name Slash, has just shared that the iconic rock group will also be hitting the road for a mini tour in October this year. Slash revealed this exciting piece of news in an interview with Chilean radio station Futuro 88.9 FM earlier this week.
As Consequence of Sound reports, Slash is currently touring South America with his band, Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, and will be proceeding on to Europe for a string of festivals before ending the tour with some North American legs that stretch into August. Only then, will he be regrouping with Guns N’ Roses for their tour and to begin works on their upcoming project. The legendary rock group are already booked for Louder Than Life, a festival taking place in Louisville, Kentucky from September 27-29.
Concerning Guns N’ Roses’ new album, Slash told Futoro that despite all the murmurs, the group has yet to begin on anything, although that will change in time to come. However, he did mention that he “already started putting together material for the new Conspirators record.” The much anticipated album will be Guns N’ Roses’ 7threcord following their 2008 release of Chinese Democracy. Last year, it was revealed that the band’s Not In This Lifetime tour was the second highest grossing tour of all time, raking in a whopping $562 million.
