Starting this Friday, grab a spot to check out some of the most noteworthy and powerful artists of recent years. The Shed, a brand new state-of-the-art live events space near the Hudson Yards development, is commissioning a five-performance series titled Soundtrack of America. For each of the shows, prices start at $25 for General Admission and go up to $95 for seated spots in raised balconies. Shows on April 9th and 12th will start at 8:30pm, while shows on April 5th, 7th, and 14th will begin 30 minutes earlier at 8:00pm.
According to The Shed, Soundtrack of America is described as “a five-night concert series celebrating the influence of African American music with a new generation of groundbreaking artists.” And they sure aren’t kidding: artists featured throughout the five-show series include the iconic Jon Batiste and Emily King as well as acclaimed newcomers Moses Sumney and serpentwithfeet. Each night features a different lineup of talent, with the only consistent performer being NYC-based DJ Natasha Diggs.
