Chvrches featuring Marshmello dropped a new video for “Here With Me” a melodic song where singer Lauren Mayberry’s reaches you through lyrics, “Can I tell you something just between you and me. When I hear your voice I know I’m finally free. Every single word is perfect as it can be. And I need you here with me. When you lift me up I know that I’ll never fall. I can speak to you by saying nothing at all. Every single time I find it harder to breathe cuz I need you here with me.”
The song can be understood by those impacted by love and it’s tenderness. The song starts off with a high intensity then winds down toward the end. Chvrches consists of Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty and they formed back in Glasgow, Scotland in September 2011. Their debut studio album, The Bones of What You Believe, was released on 20 September 2013. Chvrches latest record Love Is Dead was released in May 2018.
Doherty commented on how Chvrches began as a studio only project, saying: “There wasn’t really any goal other than to put a song out on the internet and see what kind of response we got”. Chvrches posted its debut song “Lies” on the Neon Gold Records blog. The song was accompanied by a picture of nuns in masks, which added to the perceived religiosity of the Chvrches name. The response was almost immediate; “Lies” reached number one on the MP3 aggregate blog The Hype Machine, and received constant airplay on SoundCloud and BBC Radio 1.
Marshmello recently collaborated with Bastille with the song, “Happier” which was certified gold in Belgium, Sweden and the United Kingdom, platinum in New Zealand and the United States, and double-platinum in Australia and Canada.
Marhsmello is an electronic dance producer who has kept his mysterious identity and has been known to wear a custom helmet for public appearances, but was confirmed to be Chris Comstock in late 2017 by Forbes. Marshmello released his debut album “Joytime” in 2016 and three singles in 2018, “Chasing Colors”, “Twinbow” and “Moving On”. He has collaborated with big name artists and remixed popular songs by Zedd.
