Electronic pop band Stereolab has announced the dates to their first world tour in over a decade. The group, which began in the 1990s, became well known for their unique sounds and production. After releasing seven full length albums, the group stopped touring in 2009 and just recently announced their return to North America at the upcoming Desert Daze festival in California. The band also announced they would be playing at the NOS Primavera Sound festival in Porto, Portugal. Now, however the group has released the full dates for a world tour over the summer. The tour will begin in Belgium at the end of May, and continue throughout Europe and North America until late October.
Stereolab has just recently come back together in full form, remaining relatively silent for most of the last decade. Prior to this, the group had announced they would be re-releasing seven of their studio albums, those released under the Elektra music label. The reissues would include the band’s hit 1997 album, Dots And Loops. The album spawned some of the groups most successful tracks, such as “Miss Modular” and “Brakhage.” The first of the albums to be re-released, Transient Random Noise-Bursts With Announcements and Mars Audiac Quintet, are set to be available on streaming, vinyl and CD on May 3rd. As part of their announcement of the reissues of their albums, Stereolab released a short video depicting the albums to be released. The video can be found below, along with the full list of tour dates for Stereolab this upcoming summer.
