Female punk band, The Coathangers, have announced they will be releasing a brand new album on March 8th. The group has been making music for over a decade and has released 5 full studio albums. Comprised of Meredith Franco, Julia Kugel and Stephanie Luke, the band emulates the classic female punk sound and combines it with modern punk and garage rock trends.
Along with the album announcement, The Coathangers released the first single from their new project and a music video for the single. The song is titled “Bimbo” and the video was uploaded online earlier this morning. The band is also currently on tour, with dates set both before and after the new album’s release. Their tour is set to take them across the United States and Canada, and they will have the performer SadGirl with them for one leg of shows.
The Coathangers’ new album is going to be titled The Devil You Know and will serve as further progression of the group’s musical talents. With this album the band is attempting to combine their various artistic visions and musical styles into a cohesive and responsive work of music. The single is an upbeat and enthusiastic track that embodies the new sound of the album and the growth of the performers themselves.
The video accompanying the song is a nostalgic look at what the group is up to and is a fun watch for fans of the group. “Bimbo” is an incredibly catchy song and hopefully foreshadows an amazing new record from The Coathangers.
