Germany’s Melt Festival has announced its 2019 concert lineup, including acts such as Bon Iver and Jorja Smith. The festival, which is held outside of Gräfenhainichen, has been one of Germany’s largest electronic music festival since the late 1990s and has been home to many world famous acts. 2019 seems as it will be no different, as the performers at the festival will include Bon Iver, Jorja Smith, Four Tet and ASAP Rocky. The upcoming iteration of the festival will take place from July 19-21.
Bon Iver is one of the most famous singer-songwriters of the past 10 years, setting a standard for the indie music scene with his 2008 album For Emma, Forever Ago. The album was supported by his hit song “Skinny Love,” which cemented Bon Iver’s fame. Bon Iver has also brought fans hits such as “Re: Stacks” and “Holocene.” His set on Sunday July 21st is sure to be one of the highlights of the weekend.
Upcoming singing sensation Jorja Smith is slated to perform at the Melt Festival as well. Fresh off her debut album Lost & Found, Smith is one of the biggest up and coming artists of 2018. Her soulful voice and touching lyricism made songs such as “Blue Lights” and “Lost & Found” some of the best tracks of the year. Recently, Jorja Smith released an incredibly artistic music video for the song “The One,” which showcased the singer’s wonderful showmanship.
Another major act performing at the Melt Festival is electronic artist Four Tet. Four Tet, whose real name is Kieran Hebden, is an English musician who has been releasing music for over two decades. Focusing on instrumental music and a unique production style, Hebden’s 2017 album New Energy brought the artist some of his largest fame yet. The songs “Two Thousand and Seventeen” and “Lush” brought Four Tet acclaim from the music community, and his performance of these tracks at the Melt Festival will be one of the highlights of the weekend.
