David Lee Roth has insisted that the current line-up of Van Halen is more of a new band than a reunion. They’ve also hinted at the possibility of a new album on the way.
Roth explained, “This is not a reunion. This is a new band. Usually when a band comes back like us it’s rockers with walkers, and this is everything but. Meet us in the future, not the past. Saving the world is (U2 singer) Bono’s job. We just want to save a hundred cities. Then we want to save Europe, then we want to save Japan, Australia and … Hong Kong. Then we make an album. Lots of big dreams here, lots of ambition.”
The current incarnation of Van Halen kicks of its (reunion) tour September 27 in Charlotte, NC.http://www.antimusic.com/news/07/aug/1616.shtml
