Exploded View recently shared their new music video for “Sleepers,” the new single off Obey, which is out September 28th. It’s not for the faint of heart — the video employs liberal use of “shaky cam” while seemingly simulating a person’s journey through a metro station to a picturesque scene of a happy woman riding her bike through the fields. Filming catches the glistening walls, grimy steps and surprisingly intricate graffiti of the metro, as well as the scenic beauty of the great outdoors.
After presenting the lead single, “Raven Raven,” “Sleepers” is a darkly epic song that is also hypnotic and soothing and almost trance-like in its delivery. The visuals for the song are very apropos of the feelings that the song invokes in its listener, a feeling of being high above in the clouds while still having a vantage point to the desolation just within its reach.
