At 85 years old, Yoko Ono doesn’t fall short. Coming out with a new album on October 19th, Yoko Ono is set to release Warzone produced by her son Sean Lennon. Consisting of 13 songs, Yoko Ono is using material she has penned since 1970. The album will have the songs re-recorded and stripped down with an emphasis on vocals. Speaking of the upcoming album, Ono highlights “the world is so messed up. Things are very difficult for everybody. It’s a warzone that we are living in.”
And having just received a songwriting credit for John Lennon’s Imagine from the National Music Publishers Association, Yoko Ono is still shaping music with Hell in Paradise—a recent released song from Warzone. With lyrics like, “This is hell in paradise. We’re all asleep or paralyzed. Why are we scared to verbalize? Our multicolor dreams.”—the song strikes a vivid chord and can easily be adaptable in modern day. The song, available on soundcloud, can be streamed below.
