Joe Strummer 001 has been announced, an expansive box set that includes some of the first new recordings heard from Joe Strummer since the posthumous release of his album with the Mescaleros, Streetcore. The box set will feature music that Strummer made apart from The Clash, the seminal punk band that he lead for much of the 70s and 80s. There will be music from the Mescaleros, the 101ers (his pre-Clash band), as well as solo material. The box set consists of B-sides and unreleased music, a special treat for fans of the influential singer and songwriter.
The artwork is from someone very familiar with Strummer’s work, Robert Gordon McHarg III. The artist also compiled artwork for The Clash’s box set Sound System. The songs were remastered and restored by Peter J. Moore, a Grammy winner who worked out of his E. Room studio in Toronto for this project.
