Following up last year’s inaugural event, Lost Lake Festival 2018 will be bringing a plethora of amazing music to Phoenix with their newly unveiled lineup. The event, held from Oct. 19 to Oct. 21 at Steele Indian School Park, will be featuring an incredible fusion of hip hop and pop, with a healthy dose of alternative and indie acts as well.
The headliners include such incredible names as Future, SZA, the Chainsmokers and Imagine Dragons. The headlining quartet truly embodies the type of music that Lost Lake wants to feature, with one of the most pedigreed Atlanta hip hop producers, a shining star on the R&B night sky and some of the most most ear-grabbing acts in pop and pop rock.
A variety of other artists, including Kamasi Washington, Janelle Monáe, Nas, Third Eye Blind, and T-Pain will round out the rest of the lineup. And of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a slew of Phoenix-based acts such as Jimmy Eat World, Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra and Playboy Manbaby.
The 43-act bill has a particularly distinct combination of genres meant to appeal to as wide an audience as possible.
Rick Farman, the co-founder of event promoter Superfly (which is also behind Bonnaroo and Outside Lands), said that his team was able to gain “a lot of perspective on the Valley and its creative set” during the 2017 festival. The event was not just a haven of music, but of Phoenix-culture in general, with food from local restauranteurs like Chris Bianco and visual art from the likes of the Fortoul Brothers.
“You’re in the city and you’re experiencing the things that are really great about living in an urban environment and enjoying those things,” Farman says of Phoenix. “But you’re really close to being in amazing wilderness — I think those things create an artistic dynamic and sensibility that we’re trying to tap into. We’re not trying to put something together that could exist anywhere else. We wouldn’t book this lineup anywhere else.”
