Sometimes two is better than one, and no one knows that better than Leon Bridges. The Grammy-nominated R&B star from Texas has dropped not one but two singles from his forthcoming new album. The songs come from his new album Good Thing, his sophomore effort.
Today, Bridges shared the two brand new tracks titled “Bad Bad News” and “Bet Aint’ Worth The Hand,” both are available to listen down below. Both tracks debuted today on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show on Apple Music. Bridges was just “too excited about the new songs to share just one,” he tweeted today on his social media account.

“Bet Ain’t Worth The Hand” is silky smooth R&B number while “Bad Bad News” sounds more like a jazz song with a dance beat underneath. Both tracks have relatable lyrics. “Maybe I’m leavin’ / Leavin’ here with nothin’ / I might regret that I can’t be your man / Sometimes the bet isn’t worth the hand,” Bridges belts in “Bet Ain’t Worth The Hand.”
Good Thing marks the first music released by Bridges since the release of his debut studio album Coming Home which came out in 2015. Since his debut to the world, Bridges has embarked on tours, performed on the late-night sketch show, Saturday Night Live and was also featured on HBO’s “Big Little Lies” soundtrack. Bridges also performed on multiple artists records including Odesza and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis as well as opening for Harry Styles on the One Direction member’s solo tour.
The new album is executive-produced by Grammy nominee Ricky Reed. He also produced and co-wrote all of the songs within the record. Good Thing will be available to purchase when it comes out May 4th. Fans can stream both tracks by clicking here.
