The Neighbourhood, an American rock band from Newbury Park, California, are most known for their single “Sweater Weather,” off of their debut LP I Love You back in 2013. Their new, eponymous titled third record is out now via Columbia Records, but the band has been busy releasing EP’s as well, with HARD and to imagine released September 2017 and just this past January, respectively.
Accompanying the release of The Neighbourhood, the band has put out a video for the lead single “Scary Love,” originally teased as a “science fiction tale told in the style of classic B-movies and outfitted with practical special effects, laser beams and lunatic ideas which are guaranteed to make it the next big midnight movie hit” starring Tommy Wiseau of The Room. Wiseau actually does star in the video for “Scary Love,” however, as well as the sci-fi elements and special effects.
“We all have very different tastes,” bassist Michael Margott said in a press release, “We’re all very creative. Everybody has their own ideas and we throw them in a pot and whatever sticks out the most is what comes to fruition.” “We know it’s possible for us all to agree on something,” added lead vocalist Jesse Rutherford, and “when we do, the feeling is so good that it’s worth it.” Watch the video for “Scary Love” featuring Tommy Wiseau below.
