Atlanta indie-rock band Deerhunter has just announced the release of new material and a whole batch of European dates for this upcoming summer. The band will also embark the upcoming tour with a renewed lineup, announced 4AD. The new release would represent a comeback for the group, which has been essentially inactive since the release of their latest LP titled Fading Frontier in 2015. The band will kick off the tour with a couple of dates in NYC on May 15-16 at respectively Elsewhere and Le Poisson Rouge before taking off to Europe and UK until mid-June. Tickets go on sale on Friday, 9th March at 10AM EST.
4AD also says in the same statement, that the upcoming new album, which the band is still working on, is expected to be released in mid-summer.
Meanwhile, Spin has reported that the band’s singer Bradford Cox is working on a collaborative project with Welsh singer-songwriter Cat Le Bon. The two will be both in residence at Marfa Myths Festival next April and that the work they are creating together will later become an EP.
As for Deerhunter’s other founding member Moses Archuleta, he has also recently announced the release of a solo album under the name of Moon Diagram, said Pitchfork.
The record, titled Lifetime of Love is set to be released on June 30th and was recorded over the past decade, in between Deerhunter records.
