Hailing from the same territory as Drake and Justin Bieber, Canadian singer and musician Lights has recently announced her newest expedition. The ‘We Were Here Tour’ will commence in February, end in March, and will visit the cities of Portland, Los Angeles, Chicago, and many more. To support her in this massive and expansive tour will be opening acts DCF and Chase Atlantic.
You most likely have seen, or heard of Lights before. In the past, she has toured with artists like OneRepublic, Paramore, and Kaskade, with an appearance at Coachella on her resume to top it off. Now a Juno Awards winner for New Artist of the Year and certified gold selling artist, it is clear that Lights is beginning to take over the indie pop scene with her imaginative craft.
With well-received albums like Siberia, Little Machines, and her newest release Skin & Earth, Lights creates a very inciting and ear-pleasing electropop lane for herself. Her marvelous and dreamy vocals lend to a folky Taylor Swift, while still being unique to her. The indie-tronica and whole-hearted beats underneath her lyrics come together to create songs that do not only sound amazing, but sincere and real as well.
The doors for this all ages event open at 5:30 PM, and tickets are already on sale. Lights has also partnered with PLUS1 to ensure that $1 from every ticket goes to support Grid Alternatives and renewable energy technology.
