Venice-based thrash band, Suicidal Tendencies, will release an EP titled, Get Your Fight On!, on March 9th next year. According to Blabbermouth, the album will be a reflection on modern times. Frontman, Mike Muir, said it, “could be interpreted as political.”
The album is produced by Paul Northfield, who worked with he band all the way back in 1992. Since then, the band has undergone an abundance of lineup changes due to creative differences, deaths and busy schedules. As a result of the band’s revolving door policy, the group has exhibited influences from a wide array of genres such as punk, rock, metal, surf rock and reggae. Throughout the lineup changes and genre experiments, one thing has remained consistent: Mike Muir. The frontman and vocalist has remained true to the project since its start in 1980.
Over the course of almost four decades, the band has released twelve studio albums. Their most recent albums were World Gone Mad, which was released in 2016 and 13, which was aptly released in 2013. The newest lineup consisting of Mike Muir, Dean Pleasants (lead guitar, 1996-present), Dave Lombardo (drums, 2016-present), Ra Díaz (bass, backing vocals, 2016-present) and Jeff Pogan (rhythm guitar, backing vocals, 2016-present), has been busy touring World Gone Mad since its release. In September and October of 2016 the band supported Megadeth, Amon Amarth and Metal Church on the Dystopia tour. In addition, the band headlined two tours in 2017: one in Europe with Agnostic Front in January, and one in the U.S. with Crowbar and Havok in February and March.
The band will tour Get Your Fight On! in March of 2018 to support several festival dates. All the shows will be in Australia. According to The PRP, Get Your Fight On! is the first album in a series of two that the band plans to release in 2018.
