Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds has recently released a song “It’s A Beautiful World”. This follows the release of “Fort Knox”.
The song features a announcement by Le Volume Courbe’s Charlotte Marionneau. According to Pitchfork, “Noel Gallagher has said that the she wasn’t given a script, so she initially improvised a ‘list of the end of the world,’ which he didn’t like.” Gallagher said “I was like, ‘Aw fuck, I don’t really agree with any of that,’” and added that he rewrote her lyrics. According to Rolling Stone, Noel Gallagher also stated “She’s doing her thing in French. None of us in the studio can speak French so we don’t know what the fuck she’s going on about. The people who were blown away the most was my French record label who were like, ‘You know you’re going to be really famous in France.’ Fantastique.”
The video shows different shots taken from the air and space flashing while the guitar repeated strums softly. As the guitar beats continue, the drum beats bring a more upbeat tone. Midway through the song the announcement starts with “attention! attention!” and talks about holding on tight, saying goodbye, breathing in and out carbon monoxide and to relax and rest in peace as the world is ending. The song can be listened to below.
