After countless EPs, remixes, singles, and collaborations, the high-energy act Flosstradamus, returns home while on their In Hi-Def Tour. Next month, the electronic beat-making producer stops brings his signature sound, and mosh pit-ready hits to the Concord Music Hall to rage with his hometown fans in Chicago.
Originally a duo active since 2006, Flosstradamus is a DJ and producer from Chicago, Illinois. In 2016, the two members Curt Cameruci and Josh Young, ultimately decided to part ways and pursue solo careers. Cameruci maintained Flosstradamus as his stage name, as Josh Young went under the name YehMe2. Now based out of Brooklyn, the duo has been most known for their signature trap sound and their star-studded collaborations. Throughout the years the two have worked with the likes of Diplo, Juicy J, A-Trak and Waka Flocka Flame, notoriously stunning college universities and festivals all over the country.
The sound of Flosstradamus is more than your stereotypical dance music. The act has a special sound that is equal parts hip-hop and electronic. This fusing of genres is known as “trap” or “electro-trap”. The style that Flosstradamus has so successfully implemented into their music includes booming bass, 808s, hi-hats and synths. Essentially, everything that you would find in any electronic dance music sub-genre. However, what makes trap unique, especially Flosstradamus’ trap, is its ability to flawlessly mix synths with rap vocals and hip-hop kicks. Flosstradamus’ sound almost seamlessly weaves in-between the genres with excellence, easily creating a perfect dance-floor or concert environment. Examples of this can be heard in prominent tracks throughout the act’s career such as Major Lazer’s “Original Don” (Flosstradamus Remix), “CROWD CNTRL”, “Mosh Pit”, “TTU (Too Turnt Up)”, “Soundclash” and “Prison Riot”. Including effective collaborations with well-known hip-hop acts Lil’ Jon, Post Malone and Travis Porter.
Do not miss your chance to see Flosstradamus perform all these hits and more at the Concord. With one of the fastest growing and most dedicated core fanbases in EDM, the Chicago show on the In Hi-Def Tour is one of the hottest shows next month.
