The Neighbourhood is going to be making the most of 2017. They just finished their HARD EP and shared it with fans today. Following the release of some new music, they are going to be closing out 2017 after they play a few concerts in Mexico, Texas and California. This is their first new project since 2015’s Wiped Out! They teased the release of their new EP yesterday when they shared a teaser of their new song “24/7.” Now their new music can be streamed through Columbia Records.

Their new album has more of an indie alternative- rock  vibe  compared to their alternative hip-hop album, Wiped Out! Jesse Rutherford provides smooth vocals, Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels play guitar, Mikey Margott is playing bass, and Brandon Fried is on drums.  The cohesion obviously shows in their music. The group is based out of the Newbury Park area of Thousand Oaks, California. They started their musical journey in 2011 as a group of friends. Then two years later they released their debut album, I Love You, which contained their platinum hit single “Sweater Weather.”  That release catapulted their career and dubbed them one of the top pop and alternative bands on the charts.  “Sweater Weather” became a top single for 2013, and The Neighbourhood went on a tour filling up venues and selling out shows throughout the U.S., Europe and Russia.

Later on, they released a mixtape that gave them a little variety to their music.  They didn’t want to be just any ordinary rock band.  In Wiped Out! They hosted hip-hop artists Don Cannon, DJ Drama, YG, Raury, Danny Brown, Dej Loaf, French Montana and Casey Veggies. Then switching it up even more, the band released a collection of R&B-infused rock music.  They have shown their ability to creatively morph their music in many successful genres. With this new album they have a more alternative feeling with some inspiration from indie-rock music.

If you want to catch them this December they are playing in Mexico first.  They will be making a few stops throughout Texas before they head home to California. It’s a short two-week run.
