The Jesus and Mary Chain are an alternative rock band from East Kilbride, Scotland. Two brothers, Jim and William Reid, started the band back in 1983; the two shortly added Douglas Hart on bass and Murray Dalglish on drums. There was tension between the band that caused members to split and for the band to officially breakup. In 2007, the group reunited and have been performing and making music since. The current members consist of the Reid brothers, Scott Von Ryper, Mark Crozer and Brian Young.
Throughout the years, The Jesus and Mary Chain have released seven studio albums. They also have a live album and expanded versions of a few of their albums. Damage and Joy is their seventh record that was out in March 2017 via Artificial Plastic. The band just released a single featuring Sky Ferreira called “The Two of Us.” Some top hits from the band are “Just Like Honey,” “April Skies” and “Sometimes Always.”
