New music is on the horizon for Boston’s own metalcore band, Converge. The band have announced that their first album in five years is about to be release. The Dusk in Us is the band’s first LP since their 2012 release of All We Love We Leave Behind.
Converge recently shared a new single off their upcoming album titled “Under Duress.” Vocalist, Jacob Bannon called the track his “emotional reaction to the complex world in which we live,” which he expressed in a recent press release. This is true as Bannon sings; “”I don’t need to learn to live in compromise/ I will never kneel and kiss your ring.”
The new single is heavy and intense and through the screams and thunderous guitar rifts, the song is pure Converge.
Following their previous shared track, “I Can Tell You About Pain,” the new single, “Under Duress” is the third track on the album. The release date of the band’s ninth studio album is November 3rd and like Converge’s previous four albums, The Dusk in Us will be released through the record label, Epitaph. It is produced by the band and was mixed by their guitarist, Kurt Ballou.
