Melvins are an American rock band hailing from Washington. Since 1983, Melvins has continued to release music as a musical trio. Over the years, Melvins has released over 15 studio albums with another on the way. Melvin will release their latest album, A Walk With Love and Death, on July 7, 2017. Melvins have been known to experiment with various sounds for their music including grunge and metal music. Melvins have been associated other bands like Porn, The Cows, Tools, Redd Kross, Big Business, and Nirvana.
Melvins formed in 1983 at Montesano, Washington. Melvins released Deep Six, a collection of four songs written by the band. In 1986, Melvins released their debut EP, Six Songs EP. The same year, Melvins released their debut album, Gluey Porch Treatments. The album was later re-released in 1987. The album release in 1999 was released with new original songs. Melvins released their “Houdini” album in 1993. The album became Melvins’ highest-selling album, earning the number 29 spot on Billboard Heatseekers chart. Melvins headlined their first major tour in the US in 2006. The tour included old songs and new songs from their upcoming album, (A) Senile Animal.
Melvins continued to release music, touring various countries in support of their albums. Melvins supported rock band Slayer at the All Tomorrow Parties festival in 2012. After various delays, Melvins finally released their album from 1999. Since early last year, Melvins announced the band was working on an album to be released this summer.
