Good news and bad news has recently struck the Dave Rawlings fandom, in a recent announcement from the artist. The bad news is upcoming album Dave Rawlings Machine Moniker is being set aside, but only so he can focus on his newest installment, Poor David’s Almanack. His third album will be released to the public on Aug. 11 via Acony Records, and contains 10 new tracks recorded at Woodland Sound Studios in Nashville, Tennessee and “crafted by” Ken Scott who worked with the Beatles and David Bowie. Other collaborates include long time associate Gillian Welch, along with Willie Watson, Paul Kowert, Brittany Haas, Ketch Secor, and Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith of Dawes. According to a press release regarding Poor David’s Almanack, “Rawlings leaves the Dave Rawlings Machine moniker behind and serves up a wry mixture of acoustic and electric music rich in ageless American vernacular.” The album is currently available for pre-sale, where you can purchase here.
