Alvvays is an indie-jangle pop band from Toronto, Canada. Growing up, singer Molly Rankin had music influences like her father since he was a part of a Canadian musical family group called The Rankin Family. Rankin had released a solo EP before the other band mates joined her. The group had formed soon after in 2011.
In the summer of 2014, the band released their first debut album, Alvvays. Hits like “Archie, Marry Me” and “Adult Diversion” are a jangle-pop lover’s dream. “Archie, Marry Me” even earned a spot Rollingstone’s 50 Best Songs of 2014. The band just announced their sophomore album, Antisocialites, will be out in September. Alvvays recently shared their newest single off their upcoming album, “In Undertow.” Though fans have a little taste for what’s to come in the near future, their new album should really be a treat.
