Producer extraordinaire and one half of OutKast, Big Boi has just announced he has a brand new album on the way, and it will be “coming soon,” according to a teaser trailer. Thankfully, fans won’t have to wait too long before they get a sneak peek at the upcoming LP, dubbed Boomiverse.
The hip hop veteran took to Instagram to announce the new album, with a series of mouth-watering posts.
Boomiverse will be Big Boi’s third solo record, following up the Atlanta native’s 2012 release Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. Alongside the trailer for Boomiverse, Big Boi has also revealed two new tracks, one of which has been released and the other coming soon after. The songs seem to be featuring some big names. The first is named “Mic Jack,” which features pop star veteran Adam Levine of Maroon 5, and the other is called “Kill Jill,” featuring Jeezy and hip hop sensation Killer Mike.
“Mic Jack” has just dropped at 12:30PM on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, and “Kill Jill” will be available later tonight as well.
The last project Big Boi was part of was his joint collaboration with Phantogram called Big Grams, which was a seven-track EP containing appearances from both Run the Jewels as well as Skrillex.
