Rapper Kool John is running through his stomping grounds and performing in San Francisco this spring. He will be performing at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on April 20th. He’ll be playing in Berner Presents Hippie Hill alongside Berner, Lil B, Jesse Royal, Rich The Kid, Kevin Gates, and Young Dolph.
Kool John is an up and coming rapper within the Bay Area rap scene. He is a part of the west coast collective The HBK Gang. That group is made up of Bay Area talent such as Kehlani, Sage The Gemini, Iamsu!, and many more. Through the HBK Record label the rapper has released four records. His most recent release was a 2015 collaboration with fellow HBK member P-Lo titled Moovie!, that album produced the hits Mad, On One, Every Night, and Shmoplife HBK Anthem. Previous to that he has dropped three other solo albums and has the notable hits Tambourine, Bitch I Look Good, Ahh Shit Gah Damn!, and Blue Hunnids. Kool John is also heavily featured in the HBK collab album. His song with Kehlani, Never Goin’ Broke, has over 6 million hits on Spotify and he has been heavily featured on the collective’s debut 2013 album Gang Forever. His music falls under the classic and original Bay style of hyphy music. Kool John’s music is fun and perfect to bump at all times, especially parties.
