Los Angeles based Alternative/Indie band Tashaki Miyaki have announced their debut album release for April 7 via Metropolis Records. In the past, the duo have released several original songs and an EP but The Dream will mark their first actual album since hitting the music scene in 2011. Tashaki Miyaki have spent the last couple years dedicating time to finishing the album, alongside producer Paige Stark, a Singer/Songwriter and Multi-Instrumentalist. The band has also released a single and the music video from the upcoming album called “City,” which you can click here to watch. In the past, Tashaki Miyaki have played music festivals throughout Northern America and has performed in several museums in Europe including The Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona and The Museum of Modern Art New York. The duo have received critical acclaim, with the UK Guardian calling them “female Jesus and Mary Chain, whose vocals cut like honey-coated razor blades.”
The band was formed in 2011 after a jam sesh ran late one night, and they ultimately came up with what would later be known as their first original song, “Somethin’ is Better Than Nothin,” and an additional cover song. After continuously posting their material to Bandcamp, they were finally noticed by London’s famous 100 Club and performed in front of a full audience.
