The Magnetic Eye Records is back for its third collaborative project The Wall (Redux). This time metal bands will be covering Pink Floyd and it looks like backers are already making this idea come true. The Project is funded via crowd sourcing website Kickstarter. A campaign for the project involves incentives for funding. Fans of Metal music came out in force and let these guys know they are ready to hear the music. The goal for the project was $5,000 in one month. As of now the project has already launched well past its goal raising a whopping $17,790. This means Magnetic Eye has the money and will start producing the album, which is set to deliver April 2018. Check out the Project to watch a short video with a feature of “Goodbye Blue Sky” that you may be hearing on the album itself.
Pledgers will receive an spread of different rewards for their donations starting with a thank you email for $1 and ending with custom packaging that is designed in collaboration with the label, their name on the project; on the gatefold jacket, the cd, and any associated materials as a patron of The Wall, a DELUXE TEST PRESSING PACKAGE, double gatefold lp, digital download of Magnetic Eye Records Various Artist “The Wall [Redux]” for a massive price of $1,500.
This Record Company has already brought fans two previous projects that successfully launched and met their goals. A Jimi Hendrix cover and Helmet cover both received huge fan support and created some amazing covers from some extremely awesome Rock bands. This idea of letting the fans donate and decide if they want the project to happen really allows for the ultimate connection to the music. By making it a crowd sourced album the record label is making the audience connect with the project before it is even available. The fan is ultimately invested in the project and music making its release that more intimate.
The most appealing part for fans is the long list of bands that have agreed to participate on this massive collaborative album. Artist such as Solace, Worshipper, Summoner, Mos Generator, The Slim Kings, Year of Cobra and many, many more. Also check out the album track listing below.
