Tyler Broderick is the young mastermind behind the indie pop project, Diners. Broderick began his foray into music from a young age–inspired by the local music scene in his hometown of Phoenix. Broderick would eventually go on to enter the very scene he admired so dearly. Through his cousin’s influence, Broderick would take up the guitar, marking the start of his musical career. At just 14 years old, the young Phoenix native was already performing shows at local venues around town, notably, the popular Trunk Space.
Broderick would later form a solo project called Hello The Mind Control. Although, due to a moment of frustration, he would quit his solo endeavor to form Diners. Diners would take a different approach to pop than the myriads of fuzzy, lo-fi bedroom pop outfits that have saturated the current music scene. Instead, the music of Diners favors a cleaner production, rather than hiding the music beneath reverb and distortion. Broderick and his new collective of members, would release their debut studio album Always Room in 2014. Their debut would take Diners’ music in a slightly different direction, without sacrificing the tone and style that won them fans in the first place.
Diners’ latest album Three dropped back in September of 2016. Broderick and his band will play this month at Hotel Vegas for the Planned Parenthood Benefit on January 9th.
